Hurricane Biomass was founded to offer farmers a cost effective and environmentally friendly solution for unwanted wood material and the preservation of water. In the agricultural industry orchards and vineyards only produce optimally for a certain number of years after which they need to be removed and replanted. In the past the old trees or vines were burned to get rid of them. Alien trees that survive on farmers’ limited agricultural water quota also became a concern in light of increasing water scarcity issues in most of the fruit and wine producing areas in the country.

Hurricane Biomass uses large machinery to remove old fruit trees, alien trees and vines and recycle them into wood chips or shreds on site. The wood chips can be spread in farmers’ newly planted orchards or vineyards. As a soil covering the chips slow down the evaporation of water, suppress the growth of weeds, keep the soil temperatures more moderate and stimulate micro-organism activity in the soil.
